“Art is not only a form of action, it is a form of social action. For art is a type of communication, and when it enters the environment it produces its effects just as any other form of action does.”
-- Mark Rothko
This body of work is a record of psychological compression and release. The act of producing these pieces is as much a part of the painting as the visual elements that comprise the surface. Through an automatic and meditative working process, emotions and psyche are relayed to the viewer in the hopes that they do not simply observe, but interact with the painting in a reflective, personal way.
